Trying To Catch Up

I'm a little behind on my summer sewing, I still have a box of stuff cut out which I never got the time to make, but I've decided to plug on with it, I can always wear layers!

First up was this Kwik Sew Sewing for Toddlers Hooded Top. The fabric is once again the PRR which I dyed Leaf Green. I also dyed some twill to make a matching pair of shorts but as I put away DS' shorts today I thought it was a bit late to bother so the fabric went back into the stash for some other time!

He's really grown recently above the waist, this is a T3 (he's 2.5 years), I did smaller hems than the pattern called for and it is only a tiny bit too big for him...

I also made myself this dress from Vogue 7688, it took about 4 sewing sessions to make and has been half completed for about 2 weeks now

It's a little bit tight which is depressing as it looks bloody huge, but I love the fabric. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make some sort of retro house dress thing with it. I put in the zip first time which was amazing considering it was 22" long! I like this pattern, it was challenging without totally frustrating me, I can see myself using it again, although hopefully I will get to make smaller sizes!

I am almost at the end of the winter pjs for DS as well. What with being on the verge of potty training and him being a wiggly boy anyway which results in soggy pjs from time to time, plus cold weather meaning clothes take longer to dry I settled on 6 pairs of pjs. I did these yesterday:

The top is a bought one that I just sewed a bit of the flannel on the front of. I did the same with a bit of the giraffe flannel to make a matching top for those bottoms. I made another pair of bottoms last night with cars and planes on them and now I just have a full set with proper buttoned up shirt to make for him out of some duck flannel I just got, he's obsessed with ducks for some reason!

Knitting wise it's pretty much all about sleeves:

And I would put a picture of the Easy V Neck which is halfway through the decreases on the first sleeve but it's too dark and dreary to bother trying to take a photo.

Today I'm working on the Beach Tote as I have 5 pattern repeats and then the handle left and it's done, trying to get another thing off the WIP list, keep the momentum going. Who knows I may even finish off Hike sooner or later. The pockets are holding me back, I seem to be convinced that they're going to be really difficult to put on and until I feel up to the challenge I can't finish it off!

Ivy's collar got off to a bad start when I cast on 165 stitches on 2.25mm needles and proceeded to mess up the first row of moss stitch, so I ripped it out and will try again sooner or later.

I made anther fluffy scarf and am working on the third and final one out of the last ball of eyelash yarn in my stash, these will be fun for the winter I think and the different colours will mean they go with all kinds of clothes. I will post pics when they're both done, really not exciting enough for a photo on their own!

So, that's me really, plugging away trying to catch up with myself, I seem to have thought I could accomplish a lot more than I've managed, but I'll get it all done one day!
