And Another Shirt

This is another shirt using Simplicity 4589, this time the square neck rather than the round neck I did before. I've seen this pattern used quite a lot in blogland, some lovely examples of it, so I decided to give it another go and see if it was easier this time. The square neck is a little less fiddly in some ways but more fiddly in others but I like the result.
The fabric is again from my local cheap shop. The shop has regular fabric on rolls (still cheaper than most places), then they have 'cheap rolls' which are anything from 50p to £2 a metre (80c to $3.40) and then in the basement they have fabric by weight, that's my favourite bit! The fabric in the basement is in huge metal baskets by type (cotton, denim, jersey, curtain etc) and if the piece is longer than you want you can cut it to a length you want, there are some great bargains to be had, I got some Michael Miller fabric and I've seen some of the John Lennon prints in there (not my cup of tea but some people will kill for it!), plus they have quite a few sales each year which makes it all even cheaper. I'd be really surprised if this shirt cost me more than £2.50 ($4.10). This piece of fabric was about a metre long so I took all of it and with some creative cutting I managed to get this shirt cut out, I must remember to hoover the carpet *before* I cut out white fabric rather than after!
Knitting is coming along, I finished the back of the Little Black Top and have started on the front and found another glaring error. Apparently I am supposed to cast on 115 stitches, knit 51 then mark off the centre 11 for patterning and then knit another 51. There is no mention of what I'm supposed to do with the spare 2 stitches that leaves me with... I have checked the corrections online and there is no mention of any of this there, and my book isn't a first print one either so I guess no one ever told them about these errors or if they were told they just never put the information up online. Maybe I'm the first person to try and knit the largest size!
I really should cast on for my sock pal socks, I may try and get that going this evening so I feel like I'm making some progress, I just can't get any enthusiasm for some reason, not because I don't want to take part in the swap, I just don't want to cast on for any socks which isn't normal for me!
